Durham Ranch is Fulk’s Wine Country getaway. Nestled into the hills of Napa Valley, just 15 minutes outside the historic town of St. Helena, this 76-acre property is marked by ancient oaks, rock-hewn streams and a spring-fed pond. When Fulk bought the property, the former cattle ranch had fallen into disrepair and there was little of value, save the beautiful land, a dilapidated ranch house, Helen the cat and Layla the chicken.
Initially the thought was to simply “summer camp” the cottage — a coat of paint and some furniture. But an elaborate overhaul of the old ranch house quickly led to the addition of a pool and then a “party barn” and finally a pair of tent cabins atop the hill. Throughout the process, the inspiration remained the same: to pay tribute to the classic California ranch.
