Ambassador’s Residence

Vienna, Austria

Tasked to decorate the official residence of the United States Ambassador to Vienna, the main challenge was making a circa-1930 Bauhaus-style interior feel representative of a young family that has such warmth and exuberance. Trevor and Alexis Traina are longtime friends of Ken and they have collaborated on many projects over the past decade, however this was the most highly personal endeavor. The family needed to feel happy and at home in their post, which meant accommodating not only their eclectic style and formidable art collection but also the needs of their children and pets and the legacy of their grandparents, who also served as US ambassadors.
