For the 2017 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, Ken Fulk was invited to design the dining room. Inspired by the sprawling 1905 Upper East Side Federal-style townhouse overlooking a lush rear garden, Fulk envisioned a quirky hostess with an affinity for zoo animals. In collaboration with DeGournay for a wild wallcovering and donations from Newel Antiques and Pierre Frey, we were able to bring to life an imaginary tale that went something like this… 

A New York Townhouse in Spring, 1968 Preparations are under way for an intimate supper in the dining room of Madame F. An ever-stylish grande dame, she has developed some eccentricities in her later years—most notably the growing collection of wayward zoo animals that she’s secretly harboring in her garden.
